FAITH The Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, Archbishop Michael August Blume has sent a special message to the Carmelite Sisters of Kiyinda-Mityana, congratulating them on the 50th anniversary of their presence in Uganda.

My soul proclaims the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my saviour for his goodness to us and for all the graces that he bestowed upon us as a congregation of Mary Reparatrix. It has been such a wonderful experience that each time we go back to these historical memories since the arrival of our Sisters in Uganda (The Pearl of Africa), I find a deeper meaning of what we are called to be.

Saint Mary's Cathedral Rubaga, commonly referred to as Rubaga Cathedral, is the parent cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala, the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in Uganda. In 1914 the missionaries began constructing a modern cathedral at Lubaga (Rubaga). Construction was completed in 1925 and St. Mary's Cathedral Rubaga was consecrated on 31 December 1925.
