REMEMBRANCE WALK

The Catholic Church has organized a symbolic walk of faith that traces the brutal trail of the Uganda Martyrs’ last days to their final martyrdom.

This WALK will be held on 27th May, 2017 starting at 8.00 a.m and shall be flagged off by the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Uganda Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the Minister of Tourism Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, the Archbishop of Kampala - His Grace Dr. Cyprian Kizito-Lwanga, as well as the Bishop of the animating Diocese of Hoima, His Lordship Vincent Kirabo Amooti.

The WALK will begin from the Munyonyo Martyrs’ Shrine and end at St. Matia Mulumba Parish in Old Kampala with the Holy Mass. As we walk in their footsteps, we shall use this opportunity to deepen our faith and spiritually connect with the Uganda Martyrs.

News

THE KINYAMASIKA BRAND OF PRIESTS IS ZEALOUS, RESOURCEFUL AND RESPECTFUL During the years I have served in the Church as Bishop I have had the joy of witnessing to the growth in numbers of young men aspiring to the priesthood. I have also shared with Brother-Bishops the mind of the Church in modern times following the teaching of Vatican II. These are some of the factors which influenced the Catholic Bishops of Uganda in their decision to open a second National Theological Seminary. We unanimously agreed it had to be in Western Uganda.

MAY THE MARTYRS OF UGANDA HELP YOU PERSEVERE IN REMEMBRANCE, FIDELITY AND PRAYER Pope Francis left us a short but very important message about the priestly vocation at the end of his Apostolic Voyage in Uganda. On this Silver Jubilee, it is worthwhile recalling what he emphasized since it is an outline of what your seminary community is called to pursue in forming future priests in Uganda.
